Hello hello! It is Thurrrsssday which means tomorrow is Friday! Booyah. Yesterday’s lunch meeting went well, but I worked straight through and took some delicious looking vegan pizza to go when the meeting finished at 2:15 to eat quickly before my 2:30. The good news is I could bring it back to my desk to show you.

I sure am grateful I had that noontime snack of kale and an apple of I would have been absolutely ill by this time with no formal lunch. I was quite hungry regardless, and really enjoyed the pizza- it’s on a ww crust with tomato sauce, sliced tomatoes, onions, red pepper, and basil. It was perfect- you could tell the sauce was made fresh because it wasn’t overseasoned- I could taste the flavor of the vegs in every bite. I have no idea where it was from, but I must find out!
I had a peanut butter pretzel Mojo bar at 5ish, but didn’t take a pic. It was nom.
After running some errands, I settled down for a perfect dinner- big fat salad with lots of veggies, moutard, lemon pepper, and ff ranch, and a whole wheat roll with 1.5 oz of a delicious raw milk gruyere I got from WF.

I normally don’t eat much cheese, but last week I had some Laughing Cows and I indulged in this raw cheese to psyche myself up for my trip to Rome. You can betcha I will be wrapping my lips around some amazing pecorino with the same lusty candor I feel when I fantasize about these.
Anyway, twas a nom din. I nightcapped it off with a champagne mango.

And slept like a rock. I awakened to my lerrrvely oaties which made me feel energized and strong.

On my way to work I past this:

It is two blocks from my house. It might look innocent, but it’s not. Apparently they begin taping of the Real World Washington DC nest week at this house. Of MTV would choose my fabulous little gayborhood to exploit a group loose 20-somethings ruining their livers and acting like contestants for the Jerry Springer show for 6 months. Yuck. I hope it doesn’t turn sweet little S street into the New Adams Morgan.

Adams Morgan = Jerry Springer = the Real World
In other irrelevant non-food discussion, thanks for your sweet comments on yesterday’s ensemble. I got it at Ann Taylor for bitch cheap, and it is fabulous. Little shift dresses are amongst the best things a girl can invest in, in my not-so-humble o.

Block Island, August 2008
Yeah. Anyway, I enjoyed a lovely porch peach midmorning before accomplishing lots considering the fact that my head is totally in the sky re- Italy.

Looonnchie was a repeat, so perhaps a bore to you, but a joy to me! Who doesn’t love eating a cheeseburger for lunch?

Mm- here’s my plate- lots of crunchy veggies, a Boca Burger with a slice of rice cheese, an Ezek English muffin, and an uh-mazingly perfect Fuji. So satisfying.

More work awaits me- ciao bellas!

This will be the second time they have filmed a real world DC. They at least started filming in DC probably in 2005 up in Adams Morgan. Who knows went wrong, but something obviously did because it never aired.
What a shit show Real World + Adams Morgan will be. Since hitting my late 20’s, I cannot go up there. A.) The cab ride would be INSANE to my house. B.) I hate that the metro doesn’t go there and I don’t want to walk to U street at 1AM and C.) I am too old to get groped by newly graduated undergrads who think they are hot shit.
Wow, who knew I had that animosity for AM?!
And how in the world do you cut your mango so nice and clean? I fight with the seed and the whole thing turns into a stringy mess.

Fitz- it is a champagne mango, which are known for their non-fibrous flesh. Delish! And on sale at WF right now.

I was wondering what your favorite brand/flavor of soy cheese is? I haven’t found any that I like!

Oh real world DC…It already invaded Brooklyn and I was pissed.

That’s an Ann Taylor dress? It definitely has Lilly Pulitzer written all over it – and I love it!
As for the Real World – I KNOW! It’s going to be a mess! But, Fenty was quoted saying they were welcoming MTV with open arms. DC is certainly the place to be!
You’ll also have to check out the Blonde Charity Mafia, another DC reality series, premiering on the CW on July 7th. One of my friends is one of the stars!

Quinn- so confused. I am hearing conflicting start dates for the BCM- is it in July or September? The CW website has 0 information.

That pizza looks awesome!! I wonder if they would let you buy their WW dough so you could make your own pizza at home? (I guess you’d first need to figure out where it was from haha). It’s pretty tragic that they’re filming The Real World so close to you. Luckily, most people over 21 aren’t really thrilled with the show, so hopefully they will just be ignored

Amanda- that’s a great idea! I’ve used TJ’s ww dough without much success.

Crazy about the DC Real World filming so near you, I hope nothing to insane goes on
OMG I’m pretty sure your Boca with cheese just helped me decide what I’m having for dinner. Yes, yes indeed.

Pizza looks good, and you must be sooooo psyched about Rome! How was Block Island? Its not too far from us in Boston, and we always think about a trip there.
