Hello friends- I am so happy it is the weekend! I have tons of fun stuff planned- I’m taking the train home to NJ tonight, then tomorrow I get to hang out with my puppies
and my parents, then Mike’s mom is taking me for a mani/pedi (!), then Mike and I are having dinner in Little Italy in NYC (very quick drive from our houses), then we are watching the Notre Dame/Boston College game at either McFadden’s or Public House (I’ll let you know once we decide in case there are any ND fans out there), then on Sunday there will be more family time and relaxation, then my best guy friend from HS gets married! It will be a fabulous weekend, and the best part is being with the people and dogs I love!
Ok, food. Right. Here’s a quick photo of my grocery shop from this week. My friend Honey wanted to get in the picture, as you can see on the left.
This is a combo Safeway/Whole Foods and we have: soy milk, collards, light whole wheat bread, puffed kamut, dressing spray, mushrooms, peanut butter, apples, pumpkin, cherry tomatoes, sprouts, oats by the bulk, a cucumber, goat brie, acorn squash, pomegranetes, plain yogurt, cottage cheese, Tofurky, radishes, roasted red pepper hummus (under the PB), baby carrots, bananas, WF Kid’s Organice Jelly. This was a particularly huge shop since I had virtually no food in my house!
Yesterday, I indulged in the last of my bag of TJ whole wheat pretzels and a Diet Satan for a snack- delish!
I had a wild and crazy evening of running errands and packing, and finally wolfed down dinner at 9:30 (I had to be in my jammies in time for Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style!). I had a big ole’ fiberific salad, a whole wheat English muffin with 1T. red pepper hummus and 1/2oz. goat brie stuck in the broiler til gooey (soooo good), and an apple.
Which I later did this to so it was extra good.
This morning, I had the biggest, most delicious bowl of pumpkin oats- I had to finish off my can of pumpkin so they were so voluminous and fantastic! With a sliced banana (duh).
I’m going out to lunch with coworkers today so I can’t take pics, but will report later this weekend! Happy Friday everyone!
