Mike and I have been having an absolutely amazing time on Block Island- it is literally paradise. We woke up early and grabbed some fruit before hitting the road.
After checking in to our hotel, we grabbed some quick wraps for lunch. I got veggies (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, corn, carrots, and sprouts) on a spinach wrap with cucumber dressing. It was the perfect light lunch before heading to the beach.
We spent the afternoon on the beach enjoying the amazing weather.
Later, we headed to our hotel’s ”Wine and Nibblie” hour on the porch overlooking the beach. I abandoned the chips and had one square of feta, but crunched on some veggies and also sampled a dumpling that was being passed.
Dinner was amazing- we went to the Harbor Grill and sat on the gracious porch enjoying the view and a drink before sitting down outside. We started with some clam chowder- I had about 3 bites. It was so fresh and amazing.
We also had the salad bar. Here is my plate filled with veggies and topped with some balsamic vin and cracked black pepper.
For my entree, I got clams cooked in white wine with some bread. This was amazing- the clams were fresh and the broth was light and mildly garlicky. I had 9 clams, and both pieces of bread.
I like the broth so much that I grabbed another slice. Truthfully the bread wasn’t that good but it didn’t matter- as long as I got that sauce!
I was perfectly satisfied after this romantic meal. We went to a couple of bars and then called it an early night by watching the women’s gymnastics. What an amazing day- I wish this vacation would never end!

SO JEALOUS!!! If you have time while you are there, go to the Oar and get a mudslide or to the Spring House and enjoy a cocktail on the lawn or to Juice N Java and get dessert. Did I tell you how jealous I am!?!?!
